Description of Services: Short-term residential elementary and secondary school for pupils with severe learning disabilities * individualized academic and social program * pupils are gradually re-integrated into an appropriate school program in their home community within 1-2 years

Eligibility - Population(s) Served: School age children and youth 12-16 years, identified with a learning disability or a learning disability with an attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADD, ADHD)
Application: Referral required from the school board where the student resides * board makes the application to the Provincial Committee on Learning Disabilities (PCLD) * clinical diagnosis of a learning disability

About Us

Demonstration schools provide individualized instruction, counselling, social skills and self-advocacy training to enable students to function effectively when they return to their home schools. Consulting services and teacher training in the field of learning disabilities are also provided to school boards to assist them in developing local programs for students with learning disabilities.
